Eric Chapin says he always had a weight problem. It started at the end of high school and really began to escalate around age 23. He didn’t take the time to eat right or exercise, so the pounds just kept adding up. Before Eric knew it, he had ballooned from 230 pounds at 23 years old to 355 pounds at 44 years old.
I tried different diets and exercise routines, but they weren’t cutting. I felt discouraged and saddened by the possibility of an unhappy, overweight life, or worse.
"I wanted to be around for the future weddings of my three daughters and their children, however I was scared I wouldn’t get there."
In 2014, he took the steps to begin the process of weight-loss surgery.
“I met with Dr. Soong at the Surgical Weight Control Center, and the rest, they say, is history,” says Eric.
